*Last weekend we had fun doing our mini Mind, Body, Soul retreat at Anantara The Palm Resort & Spa, which was the perfect setting (see the above photo). After some vinyasa flow yoga, guided meditation and life coaching, we took a dip in the pool and lounged on the gorgeous beach. It really felt like we had escaped the ‘busyiness’ of Dubai and landed on a heavenly island somewhere. I definitely recommend spending a day on their pristine sandy beach. *This week I popped into Glow Salon & Spa, housed in a villa opposite Sunset Mall on Jumeirah Beach Road. Owned by a friendly South African called Kay (who is also a holistic therapist), it has a relaxing ambiance. I enjoyed an organic mani/pedi with two great therapists (Ruby and Sarah) who used Spa Organics products including a lemongrass sugar scrub (containing a blend of botanical ingredients) and Orly nail polish (which is free from nasty toxins like toluene, formaldehyde and DBP – worryingly these harmful chemicals are still found in many mainstream brand nail polishes). *My favourite dessert snack from my local Kcal (the healthy fast food chain where everything is under 300 calories) is their sweet banana sushi – sliced bananas coated with rice and wrapped in soy bean sheets and served with low fat dark chocolate sauce.
