THINGS I LOVE THURSDAYS

Sarah Bladen On Cloud Zen

*I can’t wait to start juice cleansing with Detox Delight. Their organic juices look super tempting and as they are 100% raw and unprocessed (zero additives), the benefits are plentiful. For instance, their lemonade juice contains pink grapefruit, beetroot, apple and filtered water. Juice cleansing is a fabulous way to rid your body of toxins and allow your gut and liver to rest and repair. Energy levels are also supposed to soar too. I’ll let you know how it goes.

*Say hello to summer! Yep, there’s no mistaking it – today, it’s a steamy 38° here in the UAE. In this kind of heat, wearing boho, floaty maxi dresses helps you cool down! The bright number in the above photo is from Meher & Riddhima a home-grown brand that supports eco-friendly initiatives. This is a label on the verge of emerging on the international scene.

*I recently met Jeff Pink, the creator of the French manicure and the founder of Orly. What I love about Orly nail polish is that it is created without toxic ingredients like DBP, formaldehyde and toluene. Their tropical-inspired colours are infused with vitamins A, E and B5 to help nourish and protect nails. “We create beauty for a fast-paced world,” says Jeff. Despite his hectic jet-set lifestyle, Jeff says that he feels Zen when he is at one with nature and cycling on Venice Beach. He also admits that one of his future dreams is to be in love again. “You can’t beat the feeling of being in love”. I won’t argue with that!

*A friend of mine has been raving about LPG, a treatment some associate with combating cellulite, however it also acts as a natural facial treatment, that only takes 10 minutes. A quick, fuss-free way of gaining a radiant complexion! This newly launched technology stimulates your hyaluronic acid by 80%, helping to combat the signs of ageing and re-plump your skin. *Ramadan is just around the corner – a month of fasting – a time to cleanse, feel compassionate towards the poor and give back to those less fortunate. Did you know that an estimated 842 million people on our planet do not have enough food to eat? What disturbs me most is seeing huge amounts of food go to waste. Shockingly, waste management experts say that uneaten food made up half of Dubai’s landfills every day during Ramadan last year. According to UN reports, the UAE has one of the highest food waste rates in the world. Thankfully there are some charities like Red Crescent who are working hard to redistribute untouched food from Iftar buffets to those in need. Read this to find out more about volunteering.

Have a sweet weekend!

Love,
Sarah signature
